    Change to IMDG Code Amendment 35

    Change to IMDG Code Amendment 35 - new regulations for sea transport of cars and machines with combustion engines in general.As of January 1, 2012 vehicles with combustion engine, fuelled with petrol or diesel to be declared as hazardous cargo.

    That means any vehicles with an internal combustion engine will fall within the scope of the IMDG Code and must be notified to carriers as dangerous goods, UN 3166, Class 9. Effective from January 1, 2012 every vehicle you ship will need to be notified as dangerous goods and you will be required to provide a dangerous goods declaration and document.

    Age restriction on used vehicle imports in congo suspended until further notice

    An amendment restricting the import of used motor vehicles to those not exceeding 7 years of age in the Republic of Congo has been suspended until further notice. Age restrictions no longer apply to imported used vehicles for the time being, however it is recommended to check in advance before shipping vehicles to Congo.

    Air France Embargo in Chad

    Air France Cargo has put an embargo in place that applies to all air freight exports leaving N’Djamena airport. Currently, no air shipments containing household goods can currently leave Chad via Air France. Other companies offering air freight export services from N’Djamena are operating as normal
