Ernst Jörg - Dean of the FIDI Academy, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Packimpex Ltd, Bern, Switzerland

Ernst is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Packimpex Ltd, a company he started in 1977. Under his direction the company developed to reach market leadership in Switzerland for international moving and relocation services. In 2007 he handed over the leader- and ownership to his son Marcel. Since that time next to chairing the Board of Directors he is also Account Manager for specific key-accounts and an in-house trainer for various subjects. Ernst has been involved with FIDI for a long time. He was a member of the FIDI Board from 1998 to 2006, and FIDI President between 2002 and 2004. He has been a FIDI Academy trainer since 1991, and Dean of the FIDI Academy since 2010.

Derek Duffy - Vice President, Armstrong Moving, Toronto, Canada

Derek is the Vice-President and co-owner of Armstrong Moving in Toronto, Canada.  The company has been successfully relocating families locally, nationally and internationally since 1963 and handles moves to and from over 70 different countries each year. Derek joined Armstrong Moving over 20 years ago. He’s been a trainer at the FIDI Academy for a number of years and co-facilitates the MiM, FIDI’s advanced management programme.

Andreas Eibel – Vice President, Sobolak Interntational, Vienna, Austria

Andreas started his adventure with the moving industry in1998: he worked as a packer at Sobolak International to make some extra money while he was studying Geography and English to become a teacher. After spending six months at OMAN Moving and Storage in Dublin in 2001 where he worked as quality manager and did the FAIM certification, he came back and started to work as a dispatcher in the office at Sobolak. Later on he went into Sales and got promoted Sales Director in 2004. Since 2009 Andreas is VP of Sobolak International.

Nicki French - Grace Removals Group - General Manager – International, Sydney, Australia

 Nicki has been in international moving for 20 years and has fulfilled several senior management positions. She is recognised by peers as a leading authority on technical knowledge within the industry. Nicki has extensive experience managing service delivery through agent partner networks and in challenging conditions.  She possesses broad general management skills including large account management, move management, administration functions and operational service delivery. Appointed as a trainer to the FIDI Academy in 1999, Nicki has been a Lead Trainer for the Essentials in Moving Diploma since 2004. 

Marcel Jörg - CEO Packimpex Ltd, Bern, Switzerland

Marcel is the majority shareholder and CEO of Packimpex Ltd, Switzerland. Originally from Bern, he soon found sympathy for the French speaking part of Switzerland where he lives today. After business school he managed the treasury of a multinational high tech company first in Neuchâtel and then at their headquarters in California. Marcel is a multilingual economist and executive MBA. He joined Packimpex in 2001 and became its CEO in 2008. The company has grown to a diversified relocation company with over 10 offices employing more than 300 people.


Kim Ngoc –  Group Director, Saigon Van Int'l Relocations, Saigon, Vietnam


Kim was born, grew up and is living in Saigon, Vietnam. She started with SAIGON VAN in 1992 as “jack of all trades” and was promoted to manager in 1995 and then became director/shareholder of the company since 1997.  Kim attended Advanced Sales training with FIDI institute in Canada in 1999 and EIM seminar in Singapore in 2000 when she was inspired to share her knowledge in the moving industry.  During FIDI conference in India in 2008, Kim met with Chantal Fera with whom she shared her wish to develop the culture training program and then in the same year joined FIDI Academy.  In 2010, together with other FIDI affiliates in Asia, Kim formed DSP Relocations Asia group catering relocation needs in the mobility industry.  She is definitely passionate in learning and sharing experiences in moving and relocations business.


Danielle Oaks - Director, Business Development , AMJ Campbell International, Toronto, Canada

Danielle Oaks, Director, Business Development, is responsible for managing corporate accounts and private client services.  She has been in the removals industry for 16 years and a FIDI Academy trainer since 2000.  She helped co-found the Women on the Move network to assist women in the international moving industry.  She works and lives in Toronto, Canada’s largest city.

Edwin Ooms - Managing Director, New World International, Chicago, USA

Edwin is a Dutch national with over 25 years industry experience of which he spent the last 14 years between Switzerland and the USA.  Edwin is the Managing Director of New World International in Chicago and joined the FIDI Academy as trainer in 2009.  Edwin is currently studying for his MBA in Leadership and Sustainability and in any leftover free time he likes to train for triathlons.  He currently resides in Lake Forest, IL where he lives with his wife and two teenage sons.

Freddy Paxton – CMO, Paxton International Washington D.C., and senior Vice President Paxton Companies, USA

Freddy has been at Paxton International since its inception in 1998, and with the Paxton Companies since 1983. He started with the family company packing and loading local vehicles during summers, achieving top local driver status in 1987. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in New York with a BA in Government and Fine Arts, and earned his Virginia Real Estate Agent license the same year. In 1999, he received an Executive MBA from George Mason University and passed the Employee Relocation Council’s professional relocation standards test (Certified Relocation Professional). As Paxton’s Chief Marketing Officer, he has travelled to over 75 countries working with the International Team. He sits on the Atlas Advisory Group to Atlas World Group’s Board of Directors. Freddy also currently is a Trustee for the Worldwide ERC Foundation.  Freddy has received numerous awards, international and domestic, in the transportation and logistics industry.

Simone Percy - Marketing Manager/Global Accounts, DASA International Movers, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Simone has been in and around the industry since she was around 15.  She is a TCK and a trailing spouse and has moved countries 6 times, so she is familiar with the process herself.  She has been exposed to multiple disciplines not just limited to moving, but also exhibitions, project moves, shipping agency and air charters. Simone is looking forward to future EiM's and new challenges.

John Seal - Vice-President, Hilldrup International, Washington D.C., USA

After serving four years with the US Marines and a brief stint in Chile, John began his career in the moving industry at Hilldrup in 2000.  He worked the first of four summers as a packer on an international team while studying at Indiana University. After graduating in 2003 he accepted a full time position at Hilldrup where he has held various management positions in both the Operations and International departments, and is responsible for key accounts. 


Warwick Woodley -  General Manager and Director, the New Zealand Van Lines, Auckland, New Zealand

Warwick has been in the Industry for some 34 years now, 27 of them with New Zealand Van Lines, most of the time being based in Auckland - the ‘City of Sails’ as it’s affectionately known. He joined the FIDI Academy in 2006 and he loves being part of the team, feeling privileged to be able to both share his knowledge and work with a whole range of students who are looking to make a career in international relocations.


  Chantal Fera- Academy Manager, FIDI Office, Brussels, Belgium

Although she has always worked for international companies, Chantal was born, works and lives in Brussels. Comparing her career to a kaleidoscope, Chantal has had the opportunity to embrace many challenges throughout several different industries. Having started as a junior clerk in an electricity company 30 years ago, Chantal quickly moved towards more senior positions leading to 12 years as an office manager, customer service supervisor, administration and finance manager in the medical device industry. The IT industry then offered another color to her rainbow career as learning & development manager. These experiences together allowed her to bring her HR and educational expertise coupled with her passion and enthusiasm to FIDI and to the relocation industry.

Payal Singh - Country Director, AGS Four Winds, New Delhi, India

After studying Travel and Tourism and working in Hospitality, Payal entered the international removals industry in 1997. Within two years she set up her own boutique removals company, gaining in-depth knowledge of all the industry’s technical and client servicing aspects. In 2006 Payal was appointed to the board of AGS Four Winds India, and under her leadership AGS’ Indian network has experienced consistent business growth. In addition to being the President of FIDI India, Payal is also the Vice President of the Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Vice Chairperson of the European Business Group in Delhi.

Alexandra Schmidt - Business Development Director, Mexpack International, Mexico City, Mexico

Alexandra is the Business Development Manager of Mexpack in Mexico. She regularly trains ISO and FAIM internal auditors within the company in addition to teaching methods on how to improve Mexpack's quality standards. Since 2012 she has also focused on increasing Mexpack's scope of relocation services.Alexandra earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and joined Mexpack in 2005. Her professional experience includes working in both Spain and Mexico in logistics, removals and relocation services.

Steve Lewis - Agents Relations, Voerman, The Hague, The Netherlands

Steve Lewis hails from Cardiff, South Wales and has resided in Asia for over 24 years. Steve has more than 18 years of experience in the moving and relocation industry working in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Hong Kong.   He is currently working for Voerman International as the Agent Relations Manager, living between Europe and Asia.  He is a Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) certified by ERC, a certified Cultural Intelligence (CQ) trainer, a certified ISO9001 Quality Management Systems internal auditor and a FIDI (Removals Association) Academy trainer. Steve was nominated ‘Global Mobility Professional of the Year’ for FEM EMMA Awards in 2012 and 2013. When not at work Steve enjoys to hike and sail.  As an ex rugby player he enjoys to watch rugby union, especially the Welsh rugby team.
