Monday 13 May                                                        

Michael G Jacobides holds the Sir Donald Gordon Chair of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at London Business School, where he is Associate Professor of Strategy. He also serves on the Global Advisory Council of the World Economic Forum. His focus is change: he studies industry evolution, new business models, turnarounds and structural change in firms and sectors.

A frequent speaker at industry and corporate events, he works with many companies, banks, the NHS on executive development and strategy. On policy, he is working with the WEF, the UK parliament (on the future of Financial Services), the European Council (on a task-force advising Van Rompuy on Innovation & Entrepreneurship) and has spearheaded the initiative, which aims to inform the debate on restructuring the Greek public administration.

Tuesday 14 May

George Pagoulatos is Professor of European Politics and Economy at the Department of International & European Economic Studies, Athens University of Economics & Business. He was a Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister and Director of Strategic Planning in the Office of the Prime Minister Lucas Papademos (11/2011-5/2012) and served in the past as member of the Greek government's Council of Economic Advisors and a board member of various academic and civic organizations.

His research and publications focus on the EU and Southern European political economy, European integration, economic governance, the political economy of banking and finance, politics of reform.

Diomidis Spinellis is Professor at the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and director of the Information Systems Technology Laboratory (ISTLab) and the lab's Software Engineering and Security (SENSE) group. Between 2009 and 2011 he was the General Secretary of information systems at the Greek Ministry of Finance.

A winner of international programming contests, his research interests lie, among others, in software engineering tools and techniques, computer security, programming languages, text processing and multilingualism, pervasive computing and applications in design, manufacturing and transportation.

Aristos Doxiadis is a private equity and venture capital professional based in Athens. He is on the management team of OpenFund II, an early-stage technology fund. He has been in the private equity industry since 1995, as director of Notos Associates, advisors to Eikon Capital, (2000-2010), and of Commercial Capital (1995-1999).

Aristos has recently been researching and writing on the institutional and cultural determinants of the Greek economy. He has managed consulting and auditing companies, worked on anti-poverty programmes for the European Commission, and planned industrial policy for the Greek government.

Peter Economides is a brand strategist with a global perspective. Owner and founder of Felix BNI based in Athens, Peter is a former Executive Vice President and Worldwide Director of Client Services at global advertising agency McCann Erickson Worldwide and Head of Global Clients at TBWA\Worldwide. 

His journey through the world of advertising and marketing started in his native South Africa and took him via Hong Kong, Greece and Mexico to New York, and back to Athens. Felix BNI clients have included Audi, Volkswagen, Heineken Breweries, Pepsi-Cola, the International Olympic Committee,, Seychelles Tourism, the Antenna Group and Pernod-Ricard.  

Peter’s work is focused on change - on the strategic responses to shifting culture, consumer habits and behavior, and the challenges of regional and global expansion.  His view is that branding strategy needs to be all encompassing, touching every aspect of the business organization and process. 


Keynote Speakers - FIDI-35 Club Conference   

Ernst Jörg is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Packimpex Ltd (Switzerland), a company he started in 1977. Under his direction the company developed to reach market leadership in Switzerland for international moving and relocation services. In 2007 he handed over the leader- and ownership to his son Marcel. Since that time next to chairing the Board of Directors he is also Account Manager for specific key-accounts and an in-house trainer for various subjects.

Ernst has been involved with FIDI for a long time. He was a member of the FIDI Board from 1998 to 2006, and FIDI President between 2002 and 2004. He has been a FIDI Academy trainer since 1991, and Dean of the FIDI Academy since 2010.

Derek Duffy is Vice President at Armstrong Moving in Toronto, Canada. The company has been successfully relocating families locally, nationally and internationally since 1963 and handles moves to and from over 70 different countries each year.
