CMA CGM Group announces Jules Verne

The CMA CGM Group has announced the arrival of the CMA CGM Jules Verne carrying 16,000, 20ft containers. Sailing under the French flag, she is the world’s largest container ship and began her first rotation in May, sailing from Busan, South Korea. The ship will operate on the French Asia Line, but to celebrate the group’s 35th anniversary, on 4 June, she was due to take a detour to Marseilles, where she was to be inaugurated in the presence of French president François Hollande. Ordinarily, she will operate on a circular route encompassing Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Chiwan, Yantian, Port Klang, Suez, Malta, Marseilles, Tangier, Southampton, Hamburg, Bremer haven, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Khor Al Fakkan and Jebel Ali. The CMA CGM Jules Verne is the third 160,000- ton vessel to be delivered to the group. This giant of the seas displays exceptional dimensions, at 396 metres long and 54 metres wide. In line with the sustainable development policy the ship is equipped with all the latest environmental technologies.
