Intermovers 30th anniversary
This year marks Intermovers’ 30th anniversary—a journey that reflects the evolution of an independent mover into one of Malaysia’s most established relocation and logistics providers. Built from the ground up, the business has grown through a strong focus on service quality, compliance, and long-term partnerships.
A key part of that journey has been our FIDI FAIM accreditation, which has played an important role in shaping our operational standards and positioning Intermovers within the global moving community. We feel this milestone offers a strong example of how FIDI standards support sustainable growth and professionalism in our industry.
I’ve attached a concise press-ready piece, a short founder statement, and supporting visuals (including an anniversary card and photos), which we hope could be suitable for editorial consideration.
We would very much appreciate you putting this forward for review, and of course, we’re happy to refine the content to align with FIDI’s editorial direction if needed.
Many thanks, and I hope we can catch up again soon.
Quote – James Andrew, Founder of Intermovers, 30-year Anniversary
“When I started Intermovers back in 1996, I never imagined the journey would take us this far. It began with a simple belief — that if you look after your customers, your people, and your reputation, the business will grow naturally.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve built Intermovers from the ground up into a company we are truly proud of. It hasn’t always been easy — there were challenges along the way — but those challenges shaped who we are today.
What makes this milestone especially meaningful is our team. Many of our people have been with us for over a decade, and some from the very beginning. That kind of loyalty and shared commitment is rare, and it’s something I value deeply.
We’ve also evolved with the industry — expanding regionally, embracing technology, and investing in specialised services like fine arts logistics. For me, growth has always been about staying relevant, being adaptable, and never standing still.
As we look ahead, our focus remains the same — delivering exceptional service, maintaining the highest standards, and continuing to build a business that our clients trust and our people are proud to be part of.”

Intermovers Celebrates 30 Years of Legacy, Leadership, and Innovation
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — In 2026, Intermovers proudly marks its 30th anniversary, celebrating a remarkable journey of growth, resilience, and industry leadership under the vision of its founder, James Andrew.
What began in 1996 as a bold entrepreneurial venture has evolved into one of Malaysia’s most respected names in Moving, Relocation, and Fine Arts Logistics. Built from the ground up, Intermovers was founded on the principles of trust, integrity, and a hands-on commitment to service excellence.
Over the past three decades, James Andrew’s unwavering leadership and customer-first philosophy have driven consistent growth, positioning Intermovers as a market leader known for reliability, compliance, and exceptional customer experience.

The Role of FIDI FAIM in Shaping Growth
A defining milestone in Intermovers’ journey was achieving FIDI FAIM Certification in 2004.
This accreditation has played a central role in shaping the company’s operational framework, embedding international best practices into daily operations and reinforcing a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- For Intermovers, FAIM has not only served as a quality benchmark but also as a platform for connecting with trusted global partners. Being part of the FIDI network has strengthened the company’s international reach and enhanced its ability to deliver consistent service standards across borders.
- As the global mobility landscape becomes increasingly complex, adherence to recognised standards such as FAIM continues to be a key differentiator—ensuring reliability, transparency, and professionalism in every move.
Strategic Diversification: DSP Relocations Malaysia
A cornerstone of Intermovers’ long-term success has been strategic diversification.
In 2010, James Andrew was invited to join the DSP Relocations Asia Group, leading to the establishment of DSP Relocations Malaysia. Built from the ground up, the business has grown into one of Malaysia’s leading Destination Service Providers, trusted by major Relocation Management Companies worldwide.
Demonstrating forward-thinking leadership, DSP Malaysia became the first in the country to implement RelocationOnline, a customer-facing platform that transformed how assignees engage with relocation services. This technology-driven approach positioned the organisation as a pioneer in delivering enhanced customer experience through digital innovation. DSP Malaysia is now the Head Quarters for the DSP Asia Group.
Fine Arts Logistics: Precision Meets Expertise
While Intermovers had long been involved in fine arts logistics, James recognised the opportunity to elevate this capability into a dedicated specialist division.
Today, the Intermovers Fine Arts Division supports leading museums and top-tier art dealers across Malaysia, offering climate-controlled storage, custom-built crating, and white-glove handling aligned with stringent international standards.
What began as a complementary service has evolved into a core business pillar—demonstrating once again James Andrew’s ability to anticipate market needs and build sustainable growth platforms.
A Culture Built on People
At the heart of Intermovers’ success lies its people.
James Andrew consistently credits the company’s achievements to the dedication and commitment of his team—from packers and drivers to coordinators, sales professionals, and management.
One of the company’s most remarkable accomplishments is its strong employee retention, with over 50% of staff serving more than a decade. Several original team members remain with the business today, working alongside the next generation.
This culture of loyalty, respect, and shared purpose has created a powerful foundation for continued success—driving operational excellence and fostering long-term client trust.
Looking Ahead
As Intermovers celebrates 30 years of excellence, the company remains focused on the future—continuing to innovate, expand, and deliver world-class mobility and logistics solutions across the region.
With a legacy built on trust and a vision grounded in progress, Intermovers is well positioned to lead the next chapter of the industry.
