FIDI Future Mentorship Programme

The goal of FIDI Future is to provide a neutral environment for the young professionals of our industry to receive coaching and guidance from experienced members of the FIDI community outside of their individual companies.

Our industry has much to offer and there are a multitude of career paths available to the next generation of FIDI. However, perception is reality and if the next generation cannot imagine what their future in this industry may look like, they may turn elsewhere to work towards their career goals. As the FIDI community, it is our responsibility to attract, retain, and promote the growth of our younger and upcoming talent. This is the goal of this programme, powered by the FIDI 39 Club.

The FIDI Future programme will pair mentees and mentors in a one-on-one relationship over the course of 3 months.

Who Should Apply?

  • Mentees: FIDI Future is open to all members of the 39 Club members.  You must be a registered 39 Club member at the time of application to be eligible to apply as a mentee to the programme.
  • Mentors: FIDI Future mentors must have a minimum of 10 years’ industry experience, in addition to being an employee of a FIDI Affiliate in order to be eligible for the programme.

  • Are you new to the industry and trying to find your footing in your individual role or company? Having a neutral party to talk to may help. 
  • Would you like the opportunity to learn new skills to open you up to new opportunities? Talk it over with a mentor to get a fresh perspective.
  • Have you just transitioned into a larger role, and feel a bit overwhelmed? Speaking to someone who has been through this transition can be helpful.
  • Maybe you just would like the chance to bounce ideas off someone other than your day-to-day colleagues.

  • Have you seen your fair share of peak seasons, yet still come back for more every year? That kind of commitment and passion to the industry can be invaluable to newer employees.
  • Have you held several different roles within your company – or even held the same position at several different companies? This puts you in an ideal position to share your knowledge and your own career progression.
  • Have you faced – and overcome – your own challenges over the course of your career to get you where you are at today? Sharing how you approached challenges – what worked, what did not – can be invaluable.
Why Should Mentors Apply?

When and How Do I Apply?

  • Online applications are now closed for 2025.
  • All prospective mentors and mentees must fill out an application form for evaluation.
  • Program participation will require a mandatory orientation session for ALL selected mentors and mentees.
  • Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and participation will be limited for the inaugural programme term.  The programme participation will be expanded based on demand for the concurrent 3 months term.
